Back to home page Song Licencing
Overheard recently: "What's the difference between a singer-songwriter and a puppy? Eventually the puppy stops whining."
Well, I have been writing songs (at least the ones that I still perform) since 1975, and so I figured I should see if someone else might be able to use some of them. If you are interested in any of my songs for licencing for TV, movies, documentaries, video games or anything else, contact me directly. Depending on the song, it may be available for a licence (either exclusive or non-exclusive), or if it is already licenced to an exclusive publisher I can put you in touch with them. Contact me through the "Contact Rick" page on this website and also at the bottom of this page.
The best place to hear all my songs, including several that have not been published or released on my albums or elsewhere, is at my website here. That is a good way to hear what I have been working on lately.
You can also go to the "Listen to the songs" page on this website for other links to websites that have some or all of my songs on them.
December 2012 - I signed a deal with Skybound Entertainment in Atlanta (Georgia) for my instrumental tune "Walking Shoes". This is an exclusive licencing arrangement, which hopefully will be successful in the years to come.
November 2012 - SRL Networks in London (UK) has accepted my song "This Christmas Eve" for promotion and play on their web radio site. Thanks folks, it means a lot to me.
September 7, 2010 - More interesting things are happening. I now have an agreement with MTV in New York for a non-exclusive licence to use a couple of my acoustic instrumentals in upcoming documentaries. They are starting with "Donna's Morning Air" and then perhaps some more as things move forward.
August 28, 2010 - I have a song (an instrumental version of "Forever Yours") placed in a TV show, "The Bad Girls Club", airing on August 31, 2010 on the Oxygen Network in the USA. This is the fifth episode of the fifth season for this reality show, and they have replayed it regularly since then
May 30, 2010 - Well, it has been a while, and a few interesting things have happened lately. I recently signed a non-exclusive licencing deal with Musync in the USA. They will be looking to place some of my songs in TV and movies, and that sort of thing.
One of my old songs from 1980, the "I Love You Rag", was recorded and released in December 2006 by Betty and the Bobs in Toronto. It is a great jazzy version of the tune. You can link to their website here: http://www3.sympatico.ca/woodway/BettyandtheBobs.html
